Religious Marching Pole

Not exactly sure what period this fits in, but we'll start here, anyway... This came from a California movie prop warehouse, so I don't think it's a sacred object. Appears to be cast in pot-metal. Really, really cool though, and probably 60-90 years old on its own... It is long, so it would be best if this was for pickup only. I think it's about 5 1/2 or 6 feet tall.
