We encourage the sales of just about anything that pertains to living history. We believe that you should have the freedom to sell anything that is allowed by law. Unfortunately, there are some things that we cannot allow due to federal regulations and some due to the impact the sale of these items may have on the world we try to preserve. Here is a list of the items currently not allowed on this site. (Please note that this list is subject to change.) We have tried to thoroughly explain our reasons for any item that is not allowed so you understand why.
Black Powder - You must have a BATFE license and a bunker in order to sell black powder. Most of us don't, so we don't allow it.
Post-1899 Firearms - You must transfer these weapons through a certified FFL holder and perform a background check. For this reason, we don't allow them here.
Alcohol - You must have a liquor license to sell these items. As we don't have the ability to check for this, alcohol sales are not permitted.
Archaeological Artifacts - Sometimes these things are acquired from illegal raiding of burial mounds. It also damages historical sites. We don't like this.
Original Native-American Artifacts - Same reason as above.
Nazi Paraphernalia - Nazi-specific items are not allowed at most WWII reenactments, so they don't belong here. Swastikas on Heer (German) uniforms are okay.
Hot Rod Automobiles - We're into history, not gussied-up modern cars. If the modifications existed prior to 1945, then it's fine. Period race cars are cool.
Racist Articles - History is ugly. We don't want to hide that. But there's no need to post "Minstrel Show" items or KKK stuff, even if it DOES fit your era.
Unexploded Ordnance - No one wants to be blown up. If you're not sure, take it to an expert.
We DO allow and encourage pretty much everything else! If you have questions about an item, feel free to ask! Vendors and merchants are not restricted from listing any of their products they wish to as long as they fit the period they are placed in. Please do not post one product in a bunch of different categories. You may post the same product in two different categories if you wish, but not in more than two. Should you decide to sell yourself into indenture, please have a legal contract written up. (Just seeing who's still paying attention!)
Have fun! Be safe! Enjoy the forum! Make some money!
